amboseli national park lies immediately north west of mt. Kilimanjaro, on the border with tanzania. The park covers 392 km2 and forms part of the much larger 3,000 km2 amboseli ecosystem. Large concentrations of wildlife occur here in the dry season, making amboseli a popular tourist destination.
Location
Sentrim Amboseli, the latest in guest accommodation is located on the border of amboseli national park right next to kimana gate. the entirely new 60 luxurious and comfortable deluxe tents are evenly spread out with fantastic view of mt. kilimanjaro. The main guest area consists of the reception, lounge area, restaurant and bar lounge and a gift shop.
Access
The main road into the Park from Nairobi is via Namanga (240km) on the Nairobi-Arusha road, through meshanani gate. The other road is via Emali (228km) on the nairobi-mombasa road. access from mombasa is mainly through tsavo west via kimana gate. it takes approximately 4 hours by road to sentrim amboseli from nairobi and 50 minutes by air. the camp is 15 km from the airstrip.
Climate
generally hot and dry fanned by a cool breeze. long rains are anticipated from mid april to may and the short rains from november to early december. Min temp of 28° and max of 33° celsius.
