man eaters camp is constructed on the original site where approximately 140 railway construction workers were killed by two maneless male lions over a period of three months. these events took place in 1898 while construction of what was then known as the uganda railway was taking place at the tsavo river.
Location
Tsavo West National Park, about 4 hours from Nairobi through Mtito Andei Gate - 65 Kms via Kilaguni, Kitani to Man Eaters (road signs). about an hour by air from nairobi wilson airport.
Climate
Generally warm 22° C - 34°c with a low humidity especially outside the rainy season which is mainly april to june. The evenings and early mornings can be cool especially when it is windy, so a jersey or light anorak is necessary.
